FRCC Turned 50 Years Old in 2018!

Thank you for helping us celebrate a half century of successful lives and strong futures.

Celebrating Our Big 5-0

When the college first opened in the fall of 1968, it was the first campus of the newly-created Community College of Denver - eventually called the “North Campus” of CCD. More than 2,000 students crowded into two metal buildings, and only a handful of programs were offered.

Things look a little different now that we are the largest community college in Colorado. Today FRCC has:

  • Three main campuses (plus several other locations for classes and labs)
  • Approximately 28,000 students
  • More than 160 degrees and certificates available

In 2018, as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, FRCC recognized all the work that went into this tremendous growth, and we celebrated how the college’s efforts have changed people’s lives in our communities. Thank you to everyone who joined us in 2018 for the events and activities FRCC hosted to recognize this major milestone!
