Medical Careers Exploration

The Medical Careers Exploration program prepares students to pursue careers in health care, including: physical therapist, EMT, paramedic, physician, nurse, nurse aide, laboratory technician, ultrasound technician, medical office manager, medical records specialist, medical secretary, billing specialist, occupational therapist, audiologist, optometrist, hospital administrator, and more!

Students have received a scholarship to participate in the Career Pathways program, but students are responsible for paying program fees. The fee for the Medical Careers program is $85. Fees cover CPR registration, First Aid workbooks and registration, and equine/anatomy lab tours. Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch pay $25. More details about fees will be provided at orientation.

Please note: Students are also responsible for the cost of a background check ($25-35, depending on age), immunizations, and the Nurse Aide certification test ($135).

Support for students with IEPs or 504 Plans may differ depending on whether the student enrolls in college credit, which is optional in the Career Pathways program. Please contact Marty Goldberg, Director of Concurrent Enrollment, at or (970) 204-8315 for details and to set up support in Career Pathways.
