Chemistry
Learn the fundamental principles of chemistry with an Associate of Science (AS) degree in chemistry from FRCC. Lab hours give you hands-on practice in the concepts and principles introduced in the classroom. Our chemistry program can serve as a springboard for pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry or another life science at a four-year university.

Our program introduces you to chemistry and includes courses common to all four-year institutions in Colorado. In our small classroom and laboratory environment you'll explore atoms, chemical bonds and reactions, the way matter interacts and the forces that give matter its properties.

AS in Chemistry
Program Location: Westminster
Total Credits: 60 credits (4 semesters)
Our AS degree in chemistry allows you to complete the first two years of a bachelor's degree so you can transfer to a university. You'll study such areas, such as:
- General chemistry
- Calculus
- Organic chemistry
- Physics
- Calculus-based physics
Transfer Options
For students who want to complete a degree in chemistry and are academically prepared to take college chemistry (CHE 111) and calculus (MAT 201), the AS in chemistry is the most direct path to a bachelor’s degree in this field.

Paid Internship Opportunity
Geo-Launchpad is a paid summer internship open to all Colorado community college students to develop research skills for a career in science, engineering or technology. This 11-week program takes place at UNAVCO, located in Boulder, Colorado, from mid-May to early August.
