Chemistry

Learn the fundamental principles of chemistry with an Associate of Science (AS) degree in chemistry from FRCC. Lab hours give you hands-on practice in the concepts and principles introduced in the classroom. Our chemistry program can serve as a springboard for pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry or another life science at a four-year university.

Why Study Chemistry at Front Range Community College?

Our program introduces you to chemistry and includes courses common to all four-year institutions in Colorado. In our small classroom and laboratory environment you'll explore atoms, chemical bonds and reactions, the way matter interacts and the forces that give matter its properties.

A degree in chemistry opens the door to careers as a:

  • Medical professional, such as doctor, dentist, pharmacist or chiropractor
  • Environmental, chemical or quality control laboratory technician
  • Researcher in chemical, environmental or medical fields
  • Secondary science teacher
  • Technical writer
  • Advocate for science policy or social impact

While science careers often require a BS degree or higher, starting at FRCC gives you a solid foundation—and can save money too.
