Nursing Program Overview

The profession of nursing encompasses both science and art. Academic knowledge gained from the biological, social, and behavioral sciences provides the foundation, while clinical experience helps to develop skills. The art of nursing is to commit to care competently for others, accepting the legal, ethical, and moral responsibility inherent in the job. The right nursing school appropriately balances the art and science of the profession by providing a strong academic foundation and meaningful opportunities to develop and test your skills.

The Westminster Campus Nursing Department offers a curriculum designed to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving healthcare delivery system. Clinical experiences include acute, home health and community agencies across the Denver metro area.

Nursing Program Mission

Nurses are special people who combine compassion with competence. They are responsible, detail-oriented people who work in a very fast-paced and changing profession. One thing that hasn't changed in recent years is the grave concern over a shortage of nurses. More new jobs are expected to be created for registered nurses than for any other occupation, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

At FRCC, our mission is to provide an excellent education that prepares you to become a member of the nursing profession, meeting the needs of diverse populations.

Nursing Degrees & Certificates

Nursing Associate of Applied Science (RN/ADN)
This program consists of four semesters of nursing courses (42.5 credits) and 29 credits of general education courses. Upon completion, students will receive an A.A.S. in Nursing and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination, NCLEX®RN exam. 

Registered Nursing Program Information

This program consists of four semesters of nursing courses (42.5 credits) and 29 credits of general education courses. LPN to ADN Bridge Program Information

The LPN to ADN Bridge nursing program is a three semester advanced placement program allowing currently licensed Practical Nurses career mobility to obtain an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing. Upon successful completion of the LPN to ADN Bridge program, students are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become a Registered Nurse (RN). See required courses and descriptions.

Nurse Aide Program Information

The Nurse Aide certificate qualifies you to take the State Certification Examination to become a CNA. Graduates of our program have a 91 percent pass rate on the state exam. The Associate in Nursing Program at Front Range Community College at the Westminster Campus, located in Westminster, Colorado, is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
