Front Range Community College pays (or disburses) funds on eligible student accounts at the end of the add/drop period for each semester that financial aid is offered.

Amount of Financial Aid Offer

All aid is offered with the assumption of full-time enrollment (12 credit hours or more for the semester). However, payment depends on the number of credits you are taking, so this doesn't mean you have to be enrolled in 12 or more credits to receive financial aid.

When we pay funds toward your balance at FRCC, funds will be prorated based on the credits you are taking. Federal financial aid will only pay towards courses that are required for your declared program of study at FRCC. View Course Program of Study for more information.

Pell Grant Example:

$6,895 offered over two semesters ($3,448 each semester)

If You Attend: Amount Paid Will Be:
Full-time (12 or more credits): $3,448 or 100% of offer
Three-quarters time (9-11 credits): $2,586 or 75% of offer
Half-time (6-8 credits): $1,724 or 50% of offer
*Less than half-time (less than 6 credits): $862 or 25% of offer

 

Colorado Student Grants (CSG), Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and Institutional Grant Example:

$4,000 offered over two semesters ($2,000 each semester)

If You Attend: Amount Paid Will Be:
Full-time (12 or more credits): $2,000 or 100% of offer
Three-quarters time (9-11 credits): $1,500 or 75% of offer
Half-time (6-8 credits): $1,000 or 50% of offer
*Less than half-time (less than 6 credits): $0 or 0% of offer

 

Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loan Example:

$2,000 offered over two semesters ($1,000 each semester)

If You Attend: Amount Paid Will Be:
Full-time (12 or more credits): $1,000 or 100% of offer
Three-quarters time (9-11 credits): $1,000 or 100% of offer
Half-time (6-8 credits): $1,000 or 100% of offer
*Less than half-time (less than 6 credits): $0 or 0% of offer

Getting a Refund

Financial aid is paid on your student account to cover eligible tuition and fees as well as certain bookstore charges. If you will receive money after this happens, the Cashier's Office will process the refund. Learn more about refunds.
