Get the personalized support you need to thrive. Whether you're a new student trying to navigate the college experience, or a seasoned student who wants to improve academic study skills, time management or get help with tough assignments, our coaches are here to guide you every step of the way.

Academic Coaches

We offer two types of academic coaches—learning strategies tutors and peer academic mentors. Both serve as academic resources, helping you stay motivated and helping you learn research-based study strategies. The also serve as guides, academic coaches and helpers for new and continuing FRCC students.

Learning Strategies Tutors

Learning strategies tutors provide a regularly scheduled, ongoing deep dive into the foundations of effective learning. They can help you build strong study habits from the ground up—including managing your time, preparing for tests and taking better notes and more.

Peer Academic Mentors

Peer academic mentors are current students who have been successful at FRCC and want to help you succeed too. They are there to help give you a boost, acting as accountability partners and helping you stay on track. They'll help you work through academic obstacles, assess your study strategies and navigate FRCC systems. Scheduling is based on your needs.

How to Get Started

To begin working with an academic coach, please schedule an "Intake Meeting" with your corresponding campus's coordinator. Use the following instructions to schedule the appointment in Navigate.

How to schedule academic coaching sessions

  1. Log in to eWOLF.
  2. Navigate to "Registration Tools" and select the "Navigate 360 Home" link.
  3. Once Navigate opens, select "Appointments" from the menu.
  4. In the populated window, choose "Schedule an Appointment". This will open the appointment scheduling screen.
  5. The appointment scheduling screen will present a series of drop-downs. Complete the first two fields:
    • For "What type of appointment would you like to schedule?", select "Tutoring and Academic Support".
    • For "Service", select "Request Academic Coaching".
  6. Adjust the date range in the third field if needed, then select "Find Available Time".
  7. Next, choose your preferred campus or remote option:
    • To schedule a phone conversation, select "Academic Success Center – Remote Services".
    • To schedule an in-person conversation, select the campus location that works best for you.
  8. Select a time that you would like to schedule your intake meeting.
  9. A new window will load to review and confirm your appointment details.
    • You can optionally add notes for the meeting.
    • You can opt-in for email and text reminders for the meeting.
  10. Finally, select “Schedule” at the bottom of the screen to confirm your appointment.
