The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides a variety of opportunities for students to achieve academic success at FRCC. Our tutoring services are offered to all FRCC students with both in-person and online options.

How Tutoring Works

If you are a FRCC student enrolled in a for-credit FRCC course, you’re eligible for free tutoring services. Choose from two types of tutoring: individual sessions and group sessions.

Individual Course-Based Tutoring

These are weekly individual tutoring sessions for up to two courses,* plus academic coaching for study skills. We offer both in-person and remote options.
*If you want additional tutoring support, talk with your campus tutoring coordinator.
Time Commitment: Students commit to meet individually with their tutor for one 50-minute session per week, per course, from the time the semester begins to the end of the semester.

Tutor-Facilitated Study Groups

Study groups are groups of 2-5 classmates enrolled in the same course. Once the group members are identified and 2-3 meeting days and times are agreed on by the group, a representative from the study group meets with a campus coordinator to be scheduled and assigned to a tutor who will facilitate and guide the learning process. Time Commitment. For study group tutoring, the group may schedule two 50-minute sessions to meet on separate days or back-to-back sessions on one day with a 10-minute break in between.

Other Tutoring Options

Online Tutoring

Online tutoring is available through MyCCCSTutoring (FRCC), a 24/7 virtual tutoring service covering 300+ subjects with audio, video, screen share and chat formats. All online students automatically have access to this service and on-campus students can access online tutoring upon request.

Math & Writing Centers

If you’re looking for something a little less structured, or just need help from time to time, the
Math Center and the Writing Center are both available for drop-in appointments throughout
the week.
