TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO SSS) is a federally funded program designed to provide a community of support to students who have limited income, are first-generation college students, and/or have a documented disability.

Space is limited — each campus TRIO SSS program supports up to 140 students per year, so apply early and start building your path to success today!

TRIO SSS is here to support you with the services listed below.
- Academic Support
Get help creating your academic plan and choosing your classes at FRCC. - Transfer Assistance
Explore resources at four-year schools and go on campus tours to find the right fit for your next step after FRCC. - Financial Literacy
Receive guidance on completing the FAFSA, understanding the financial aid process, and finding scholarships. Attend workshops covering budgeting, saving, credit, and more. - Career Exploration & Preparation
Connect with resources to help you discover your educational path and take the next step toward your career goals. - Wolf Success Workshops
Attend workshops on topics like successful student strategies, resume writing, equity and inclusion, leadership development, and more! We also welcome topic suggestions from our scholars.
Cultural & Community Activities
Step outside your comfort zone by participating in activities that increase your awareness of our diverse and global society. - Mentorship
Connect with a peer mentor who shares similar experiences and can guide you on your educational journey.
Eligibility
Requirements are set by the federal government.
To qualify, you must:
- Be accepted to or enrolled at Front Range Community College
- Be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
- Meet one or more of the following:
- Federal low-income levels
- First-generation college student (neither parent/guardian has a bachelor’s degree)
- Have a documented disability (through FRCC Disability Support Services)
- Demonstrate a need for academic support
Commitment to the 3:2:1 TRIO Wolf Success Plan
As a TRIO SSS Scholar, you will:
- Have three meetings with your TRIO SSS Success Coach each semester
- Participate in two TRIO Wolf Success Workshops or activities each semester
- Take part in one mentoring activity or access services at the Academic Success Center
You should also have a strong desire to graduate with an associate degree and/or transfer to a four-year institution.
