Welcome! At FRCC, our number one priority is student success. We believe that learning is a partnership among students, faculty, and staff, and we are dedicated to providing opportunities for diverse learners to reach their goals in a safe, supportive environment. Here are a few of the ways we focus on your success.
We prepare you for the ‘real world.’
Our associate degrees and certificate programs
train students for careers in well-established and emerging industries. Manufacturing and Energy Technology
, for example, has a 20kw steam turbine power plant laboratory. Health Information Technology
is preparing students as the health-care industry converts to electronic records. Our $10-million Advanced Technology Center
has state-of-the-art precision machining equipment.
Your credits are guaranteed to transfer.
Our gtPATHWAYS curriculum of general education courses is guaranteed to transfer
to the colleges of arts and sciences at all public four-year colleges and universities in Colorado. You can also graduate from FRCC with a degree with designation in at least 29 fields
, from Anthropology to Chemistry to Theater. All are guaranteed to give you junior standing in at public colleges and universities in Colorado.
In addition, special statewide transfer agreements cover fields of study such as early childhood education
, elementary education
, and nursing
. With all these transfer opportunities and FRCC’s reputation for academic rigor and excellence, it’s no wonder FRCC is the number one transfer institution for Colorado State University and the University of Colorado at Boulder.
We also have transfer agreements with Colorado School of Mines, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Regis University, and the University of Denver. When you transfer, our studies show that FRCC students do as well at four years schools as the students who start there.
Our faculty are dedicated to teaching and learning.
Our devoted, highly educated faculty are passionate about teaching and student success. At FRCC, classes are small enough that instructors know your name—and can help you get to where you want to go.
FRCC classrooms and labs employ some of the best technology in the state. Students work with the latest software programs and computer equipment, and our state-of-the-art facilities ensure teaching is always at the leading edge.
We’re building a better FRCC.
In 2015, we opened Little Bear Peak
at the Larimer Campus to house Automotive Technology, Manufacturing and Energy Technology, and Welding Technology. We also did a total makeover of Redcloud Peak
and turned it into a creative arts and design center.
At the Westminster Campus, we opened a new greenhouse for Horticulture and Landscape Technology and Horticulture Business Management and made over the South Classroom Building into a visual arts center. The renovated Student Center houses more student-centered spaces, including a coffee bar, increased lounge space, quiet study rooms, and an upgraded and expanded gym and fitness facility. And there’s more to come in 2016.
We partner with high schools.
Our Gateway to College, College Now, and FRCC Early College programs
, which allow students to simultaneously earn high school and college credit, are just a few examples of FRCC’s commitment to helping young students better their lives through education.
Our students come from all walks of life.
FRCC students come from a wide range of ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds. From students coming straight from high school to adult students seeking to further their careers, we embrace diversity on our campuses.
We’ll help you figure it all out.
If you're unsure of what you want to do, our academic advisors
will help you determine your goals, choose classes, and plan your career. If you're concerned that you’re not ready for college-level class work, developmental English
and math courses
prepare you in one semester. A number of those classes are set up as “learning communities” where your teachers and fellow students support you toward success. We also provide tutoring, study skills seminars, math and science drop-in help centers, and a number of other academic support services
At FRCC, you’ll save a bundle.
Starting your education at FRCC will save you thousands of dollars in tuition
, helping you reach your career and life goals affordably. If you are a Colorado resident, apply for the College Opportunity Fund
to cover part of your tuition.
We’re here to help you make the most of the experience.
FRCC has programs and resources that will help you thrive—and have fun while you’re at it. Our service learning and mentorship programs enhance your learning. We also believe that not all learning takes place within the walls of the classroom. Clubs and student activities
, including leadership development programs, offer opportunities to learn and grow. Talk with a Student Life professional.
